Similar opening scene (Cinderella)

Cinderella is a Disney animation film that gave me the idea of how they used the colours and present the charm and similar to high school musical very oeaceful and relaxing however it does include another mood of conflict between her sister showing an evil side of her family but a brighter and innocent side of Cinderella.

Overall by watching the opening scene of this film made me think of how I can present my character and her family member by making her the innocent one by her family member more evil and devastating which don’t allow her to become happy to enjoy the freedom of life.

Similar opening scene (High school musical)

The reason why I have chosen this film as a similarity to our opening scene is because it shows a nice peaceful and delicate night which gives a charmful mood for us audience and it creates a more happy tension and feels as if nothing harmful will come across with this peace so therefore this gave us the idea to create a more peaceful and happy mood in the 1st part of our opening scene but then add on another mood which changes the emotions of our audience feeling more disturbed and having Goosebumps.

Looking at opening scene like this is very touchy and gives out a great idea of how I can produce happier and a relaxing feeling that you can just take away all your stresses and make you more comfortable of watching.

Similar opening scene (Step up)

Step up is another film that has an opening scene where they present two different dance styles which is break dancing and ballet and we see how the film present both style and get the intention of them colliding into one. This opening scene is similar to ‘you got served with the dance battle but instead it’s a dance style battle showing both views of each of them. The idea of how this was similar is that in our opening scene ‘lets dance’ it shows both views of the girl practising and her sister as she comes up the stairs to be like an ‘intruder’ but different than ‘step up’ and ‘you got served’ we manage to include two different types of songs which is jazz to create a happy mood and opera to create a shocking and more of a disturbing mood and this type of feature didn’t include in the opening scene of ‘step up’ it only used one genre of the music which could be known as Rap or RNB.

Similar opening scene (You Got Served)

This is an opening scene that also had the similarities with ours which had the same fast paced mood but different emotions that are involved in these aspects. However this is one part of the film which does include an opening scene for 2 minutes that I found on YouTube.

This opening scene has the similarities where it jumps straight into the dance battle and we see the empathy and high tension of watching these performers to give the feeling to be more interacted and feel the enjoyment with these characters and this is what we added onto our film but instead of an enjoying moment we added a more disturbing mood for the audience where Emma finds our her sister is coming which quickly includes the fast paced movement of her quickly going into the bed to make sure she doesn’t get caught

Similar opening scene (Billy elliot)

Billy Elliot

The opening scene of this film that was posted on youtube wont allow me to embed the video so therefore here is the link to youtube to wacth the opening scene of billy elliot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iL2EbrL5Co

Billy Elliot is one of the films that had the similar aspects of opening scene to our film. As you can see the scene above it shows several of shots of Billy practising his ballet and also the music plays as her puts on the record. This gave us the similarities of using the same idea of producing a girl who is practising and stretching for her ballet and dignifies what she does in her social life. The effects of the opening scene was very creative and gave us the idea of instead of using a slow paced movement why not try a fast paced movement where something unpredictable may occur while the opening sequence.

We how comfortable and usually quiet immature of how Billy play and jumps around the house so therefore this immature of Billy gave us the idea of making our main character Emma to wear a wig.Billys personality in this opening scene is very logical of how he is very comfortable being by himself whereas with others he feels more shy and frightened as you can see where he gets beaten down I his boxing match we can tell that he doesn’t have an interest in boxing which indicates that Billy isn’t a very aggressive person but more assertive.

Films that inspires us

Through the research and development we looked at other films that inspired us to gain the idea of producing our own. As you know our theme for our aspects of film is relating to
obsession and by looking at other films helped us to gain ideas of how we can produce
something different and effective.

Ballet shoes

is a 2007 British television film, It was produced by Granada Productions and premiered on BBC
One on 26 December 2007.This story resolves with three adopting sister and also presents of how one of them manages to exceed her goal which is to become a famous ballet dancer this inspire us to create the same feature and personality of the main character who is shy and very innocent. The theme was very catchy and grabbed our attention to create a more peaceful and relaxing mood for our audience. However many peaceful time don’t always come across with happiness there is always a situation which creates a disturbing mood and a depressing motion for the target audience so therefore this film inspired us to create this attention and add the conflict between the persons family members since the girl has two step sisters we could create an evil characteristic of their sister leaving one with a pure and innocent characteristic.

Billy Elliot

Here is the trailer of Billy Elliot

Billy Elliot ids one of the film we admire the most because of the same obsession the Billy has towards ballet and also how he inspire us of giving the purpose of our film which is to never give up hope. He inspired us by going through a lot of conflict and disagreements from his father as he doesn’t like the term that he is interested in ballet. However in this pint of view Billy never gave up his dream and kept on going to fulfill that dream therefore this gave us the idea to produce a character who has an interest but come across disagreement and bad situation while the person keeps on going and going until, her achievement is exceeded. Not only this will inspire me but this inspire everyone as a whole who has an interest in something.

Sister Act 2

Sister act is one of the film that has the similar impalement where you should never give up hope
it does have the similar aspects of disagreement but hardly any conflict this film is about a nun who exceeds a music class to become a famous choir and winning a massive competition and this reward gave us the idea of producing a reward for a person who achieves their goal of becoming famous dancer which has the different prospects the goal that is achieved in sister act 2.One of the characters name Lauren Hill had the impalement of producing the same character who is very depressed because of their own family which don’t allow them to do anything with their social life except education and also how she is very keen of trying her best of what she wants to accomplish.

Overall with all the incitement of films above which has similarities with each other but in
this case our film ‘Lets dance’ will bring a new system and a new type of aspects of how a girl achieves her dream goal and throughout the whole research and the determination of finding new ways of how conflict and happiness can occur this will help to make our film even more effective.

Photo story board - 'Lets dance' opening script

Before planning and starting off our shooting schedule we have to plan throughly but taking pictures of the actions that will take place for our opening scene so therefore i have used my phone to take pictures of our location reece which basically was needed for us to do after we setted up our location reece because of the time limit and the changes we had to do from other location reece,so here is the slideshare.

Lets dance Opening scene (Main task video)

Here is the opening scene for our fim 'Lets dance' we put all our effort and determination of producing this film and throughout the whole editing process we manage to upload this onto youtube and able to let eveyone around the whole global to view it,here is the video.

Evaluation question 7

Question 7: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Preliminary brief
Film and edit a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character. It had to feature a couple of lines of dialogue then must exchanged between characters and match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule should be demonstrated.

Main task
The titles and opening of a new fiction film, to last a maximum of two minutes (all video and audio material must be original, produced by candidates, with the exception of music or audio effects from a copyright-free source)
The main task brief was then going to be much more detailed to me and everyone in whom we knew that it was going to be a lot more work and effort which meant dedicating more of my own time. Also more team work because it was a bigger task compared to the preliminary task as it needed more planning and thinking.

Pre-production
Pre-production is where the initial ideas where drafted as a group in both the main and the preliminary task.

Prelim task
On the prelim task we had to plan thoroughly on a short story that we can create in ;less than 2 minutes We also planned drafting our storyboards, treatment, location, cast, etc so therefore for our storyboard we have produced an idea where someone is running late for school and sits then he realises that school had finished, This story that w had to produce for the prelim task had to be simple and easy to understand this was temporal a first draft to understand the concept of taking shots, organising the location Reece which we booked a history room in the media block, we didn’t come across any situation while booking the room since it was free after that school that day. However the main problem for this prelim task was to get the cast for our group because many students didn’t want to be in the film and also was very shy to act or perform in our short clip however throughout the whole persuasion from the people I knew I manage t get the casts ready and start recording our shots. We had to follow our story board properly and also follow the concept of our script making sure opur cast will understand what to do and perform in the short clip, Therefore it did took a lot of time consuming since we didn’t have a dress rehearsal for this prelim task.

Overall I have learnt that they main key to be successful of pre-production for the prelim task is to plan thoroughly and also try and persuade people to volunteer and help us to perform for our short story since our main weakness for this aspect of prelim task was to gather the cast in the future I have to try and persuade as many people I can around the school just to make sure I am fully prepare to start and also make sure they understand what to perform since there wasn’t any dress rehearsal at that time being.

Main task

In our main task the location was vital to us as without it we wouldn’t have a location to film on. As you know in the prelim task it was very simple to gather the location however for our main task it was one of the biggest problem I had to encounter. we had 2 locations that were all reserved for us with consent everything and because of the dates we had to film and the availability of the location our location was no longer available. We then solved this by using the media department’s production room and turned it into a girl’s bedroom, we had to bring props such as posters, mattresses, teddy bears you name it everything that includes into a girls bedroom and this was a lot of hard work to produce but at the end we manage to accomplish what we encountered and made it look exactly like a girls bedroom. The idea of our story was fairly straight forward. As compared to the main task we drafted it 3 times in total as our group had to keep changing the idea of our opening sequence due to the availability of our location. The shooting schedule for our preliminary task we didn’t pay enough attention to as this could of cost us , as on the day of filming it was used as extra back up for the order of the shots. When it came to the main task we made sure that the shooting schedule was photocopied alongside the storyboard as it was more quicker than having to go back and forth and what the shot had to be consisted of as the storyboard was photocopied we couldn’t really see the words properly the shooting schedule helped since we learnt this aspect in the prelim task. Also the cast for our main task wasn’t a big problem as you know in our prelim getting the cast was a major problem because in that time we didn’t quite now everyone in our school so as time went by it was very easy for so to organise the cast and give them the information and the deadlines they have to come and start the shooting schedule. The props usually had to cost us such as posters,magazines,make-up tools ect but the rest was usually brought at home or used from the school props room such as the matresses, bed sheets, mirror ,wardrobes ect.when it came to the preliminary task our initial decision was to get our friends to help us in filming. As we found that would be much easier for us to work with people that bring out the best in us when it came to filming.

Production

The production stage is the day of filming in both the preliminary task and the main task.

Prelim task

For our prelim task is was very crucial to check if everything was ready to start recording without any distruption. The equipment was a main problem for the production processing as we had to replace our tripod three times which caused a lot of time consuming and frustration but we managed to get a tripod that actually worked and didn’t have any errors at all. While filming our prelim task we had to take various of reshoots over and over again according to our story board so therefore we had to move the camera around and it was very difficult to accomplish that because there were many table and chairs in the way so therefore we solved this problem by moving these objects and made space for the camera because we was warned that if the camera was damaged then we had to pay a fine. Also the main techniques we learnt according to our prelim task was to produce cut away shots and this was very easy to understand due to the practise we had from before using the camera but it did took a lot of time due to the various shots that was used for example the panning shot as our cast tom was running up the stairs and also cut always shot when tom opens the door, we had to be very accurate and make sure it doesn’t look very weird the way the shot has cut out. The timing was very crucial as we had to finish at a certain time after school but we managed to complete our filming in the matter of 2-3 hours which was very long and difficult to finish but still manage to accomplish our prelim task.
Overall the main key that have learnt while producing the production for my prelim task is to make sure that before filming that the equipment is not damaged for example the tripod had to replace several times so therefore before filming I have to check if all the equipments was working properly just in case of any replacement. Also I have to make sure that time wasn’t wasted at all for example where I had to take different shots that was needed so therefore I have to follow the shots according to my story board.

Main task

In the main task it was easier for us to prepare our self and make sure there aren’t any errors that may occur while recording. The weather wasn’t a problem because it was dry and windy however if it was rainy then it would be a big problem since it would damage the camera and also the tripod which then again would be a risk of us paying the fine, but luckily the weather was fine to take the shot. With the equipment there was no problem at all since for the main task we had to be ready in 7:30 in the morning just to prepare all the equipment and make sure that the equipment works properly and nothing is broken such as the tri[pod since it was one equipment that was a big problem in that time being. Because we learnt this lesson in the preliminary task we made sure that when it came to the day of filming that we would go the Stuart (our supervisor) that equipment such as tripod and camera where all ready to be used. we filmed in the morning for the whole day in a room where there was no sound projected. For extra back up we put a sign on the door saying that we were filming and that they should not disturb us. By doing this there were no interruptions because we had this experience from the preliminary tasked which had helped us an awful lot. Also gave us time to show our cast what to perform but this was a disadvantage because we never had the time to do a dress rehearsal due to the problem we had with the location Reece so therefore it was time consuming at first but still manage to finish the production on time without any rushes at all.
Overall the main key feature that I have learnt is to always prepare yourself before recording meaning that all the equipments are ready to be set and all the equipment are efficient to be used for filming.

Post Production and feedback

After when the filming was complete we then had to edit which is called the post production using adobe premiere. Receiving feedback throughout the whole project is really important to keep improving it and finding out if it attracts the audience particularly in the main task .

Prelim task

For the preliminary task, we didn't have to consider the target audience or any character profiles as it was constructed for media students’ learning experience to see how we handle our first media production. Therefore it taught me the technical side of how to structure the filming prospect of an opening sequence. We only got feedbacks from our teachers and also our fellow class mates that gave us their opinion of the prelim task to be honest this was a great sample that taught us of how we could improve next time, they said that the film was very accurate due to the cut off shot s and also they did say that shots was kind of blurry but still according to the other shots it was very creative and well structured in its format. For the editing process we had to keep as many shots we took and choose the best one we learnt the concept of how to use adobe premier and edit our filming including the title credits and also music this helped us to prepare our self for the main task. So therefore as we produced our prelim task we uploaded them onto YouTube so it will allows us to embed them into our blogs and also gain more feedback from different viewers around the world.

Overall the main key feature that I have learnt for the post production and feedback is to always gain feedback from everyone to get a clear vision of how to improve your filming making it more creative and interesting for the viewers and also learnt the editing process with the tools that can make my film look magnificent.

Main task

The feedbacks that our group had for the main task were that we should change the music as our previous music was too depressing. We then took this constructive criticism on board and changed it to a more vibrant vibe it gives as at the end of the day feedback is used to help us make our film better. We also gathered positive feedback from our class mate which they were very impressed with our work but the main problem was the music that it didn’t fit the prospects of our opening sequence so therefore with all the feedback and opinions we had to decide what music will be suitable for our film. In our preliminary task also in editing we found that saving our work was vital in which we knew that adobe premiere wasn’t reliable as we were told before editing. At the end of every editing session the save button was used a numerous amount of times as when it came to the main task we used the same method. What we did was we would click ‘save as’ then the number 1 next to it as then we would save multiple copies and this then we could easily just go back if any problems would encounter. It was much easier for us to do it this way as then we could explore different type of shots and play around with different effects in picking the best and more effective shots for our film. The time corporation was very crucial and was very simplistic to organise all our best shots in the editing process so therefore we would include interesting shots that the audience would admire of watching.

Conclusion

Overall, I learnt over the two projects that working with different people is always a good thing as you get the chance to work with people who have another perspective and differences can bring together a wonderful product in which will highlight hopefully in both our projects. I also learnt in the main task that making sure that you always have more shots than you need to use that when editing you have a range of shots to choose from. In addition the most important lesson that all of us learnt that planning is the most important aspect of any film, because without planning you will struggle in the film industry for example for our prelim task we didn’t plan the performance so therefore it was time consuming and did lea to a lot of frustration for our crew member. As we planned in both sequences overall I think that both of our sequences were very detailed and exceeded the main objectives.

Evaluation question 6

Q6) what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

The equipment I have used for my filming procedure was:

Camera

Basically is one of the most important equipment for this filming procedure because without the camera there is nothing to record meaning no film would be produced.
It’s simple.

Before filming our opening scene we learnt how to use the camera and what prospects does this camera include and any technical devices that clarifies the aspects of filming.

The camera includes a LCD screen which as you record will appear on the screen and the button layouts allows you to rewind, record, play, pause and also stand by, these were the main buttons that was used for the filming concept by they had other devices such as AC where its on the camera mode where you can either record or do anything and also VCR mode where it will bring to the things you have recorded for the camera. The problem was that most of the time I usually forgotten to switch of the camera while not recording the film because it usually wastes a lot of battery for no use what so ever but still mange to keep up the process and understand how to use the camera this usually occurred in the begging of our scene where I had to explain my actor what actions to perform so therefore the camera was left out being on for the whole time meaning the battery was being wasted. I also had to be very clear of moving camera because the value of camera was very high and also the property of a school so therefore if I dropped the camera and brake it then ill be paying a fine and also my film will be a fail. I do not consider of dropping the camera.

Techniques learnt while using the camera

I have learnt many techniques of making shots with the camera I learnt how to do ta 180 degree panning shot which is a basic guideline that states that two characters (or other elements) in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line. The new shot, from the opposite side, is known as a reverse angle. So in simple terms its defined where a shot is usually be taken as a pan around In circles so therefore The 180 degree rule enables the audience to visually connect with unseen movement happening around and behind the immediate subject and is important in the narration of battle scenes. I used this technique at the 1st and 2nd scene of my film where we pan around Emma’s bedroom to show what things and props to give a good clarification about what a bedroom looks like and indicate that we are roaming around a girls bedroom making it clear where the situation is going to set.

I also use the rule of thirds which is defined where is a compositional rule of thumb in visual arts such as painting, photography and design. The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections. By using this technique will claim that aligning a subject with these points creates more tension, energy and interest in the composition than simply centering the subject would. I used these shots in where Emma’s looking into the mirror and putting on the wig this actually helped us to create this tension and also made sure that that the camera did record anything else that wasn’t supposed to be in the frame. I also used this shot on the over the should of the teddy bear which you can see Emma dancing and this was a fabulous idea that we decided to do because it looked very creative and actually stand out more with the props we used.

Learnt the basis of Continuity editing which smoothes over the inherent discontinuity of shot changes to establish a decent view between shots. Even within continuity editing, though, the match cut is a contrast both with cross-cutting between actions in two different locations that are occurring simultaneously, and with parallel editing, which draws parallels or contrasts between two different time-space locations.

Another technique I have learnt was the match on action which is defined where A cut made on action or movement between two shots in which the action has been overlapped either by repetition of the action or by the use of more than one camera. So therefore for my editing I had to overlap many shots because of the length so therefore I included all the shots I took merged it on top of the other ones so it can shorten the time with fabulous such for example in scene one when panning down to house which cuts into the room and to the bed.

While recording the procedure I have to be fully aware of the weather which was only used for the purpose of scene 1 while panning down of a house because if the weather was very wet it will cause a hazard and damage the camera and tripod so therefore will be very hard to record but luckily the weather was fine and was good to record for this shot only.

My canon XHAI camera

This is the name of the camera I have used for my filming:

Battery (portable and charge pack)

Battery was also compulsory equipment with the camera so we can get the camera working and also the charger was needed just in case the battery was low and needed to charge.

Tripod (and Bag)

We used the tripod in many occasions to steady the camera and held it into position there were many facilities and devices we learnt about the tripod which was the spirit level where is defines of it checks if the tripod is setted on its centre position making it very accurate for the camera to record. The reason why spirit levels is important for the recording process is that it make sure that the camera is in its place while its not either of place and looks very wonky so therefore spirit level checks if the camera is accurate in place which you will know by looking at the bubble if its in the circle. Also I had to be very careful while putting the camera on the tripod so therefore it had a security lock of where you slide in the camera onto the tripod and lock it by turning a small handle just to ensure it doesn’t fall of because if this happened then I would be a big lost for our filming structure and also a lost in our wages.

Tape

Tape was of course an important equipment I needed which its something that we had to record on unless without it then no data will be save d and also wont be able to record the opening scene but had to rewind the tape to the beginning to make sure no recording is lost.

Clapperboard

Clapperboard helped us to indentify the scenes that took place so while for editing we know what bits and bobs to keep and what scene was it.

Chalk

The chalk was used to write the number of the scenes on the clapperboard so while recording it the camera will show the clapperboard with the scene that took place which will help while coming to the editing process.

Lens cap

The lens cap is used to protect the lens of the camera so therefore without the lens there would be likely risk of the lens being damaged and also corrupting the camera s recording, which will lead of damaging the camera of having to replace another lens which will finally of paying the fines of that cause. So to be in a safe side make sure you be very careful of using the camera equipment and also make sure that none of the devices of the camera is damaged. To set up my equipment i had to follow certain steps to make sure everything was safe and secure:
I firstly had to unzip the Tripod case and take it out carefully. To release the legs of the tripod, i had to untwist the grips at the bottom of each leg and extend to the highest length, then tighten the grips securely to prevent it from falling or slipping. Once the bottom half is secure, i then had to repeat the same process with the top half of the tripod, extending the leg length to fit my height, so once the camera is on it would be at my perfect eye line and I also had to change the level of the tripod in each scene because we had some great ideas of how to produce creative shots in our opening scene.

Which will; lead to take out the camera from the bag and unclip the strap that is holding down the camera. Holding the camera firmly by the handle i removed the lens cap and tested it to make sure it was perfectly working (we had time before we started our filming so therefore if there was any problem such as the tripod and camera we had time to change it). However, in the event that the shoehorn was loose, i could easily just tighten it with a 10 or 2 pence piece. When the camera was slid onto the tripod, I locked it in from the side and tested that it was firmly safe by shaking it softly from the handle. I also had to insert the tape and rewind al the way to the beginning so it doesn’t get cut out while we were filming and also had to switch off the camera after its not being used but to switch on the camera I also had to put in the battery which the camera included a button which I pressed and inserted the battery inside the camera and then I switched it on and to be on the safe side I checked if the battery was high just in case we needed to charge. This leads to putting the camera on the tripod which I obviously had to secure the locks to make sure it doesn’t fall of and before recording I then checked the spirit level, depending on the make of the tripod the spirit level handle differs, and also loose up the handle so for the panning shots for example scene 1 it will be nice and smooth to do an 180 degree turn. I then had to proceed with his sound checks and make sure that the LDR lead was in the correct socket and that the camera was on the correct setting so the sound was being picked up from the Boom and not the microphone built into the camera. I did this by going in to Menu>setup>sound and turned LDR switch ON.

When everything was set up I manage to organise these premises to start recording all the scenes but with the tripod I had to change the level according to the camera shots I planned for my story board.

Editing process

Some of the reaction shot that I used for editing was very conclusive and easy to merge for example I got all the shots of Emma roaming around the bedroom and made her to react and to pretend that her sister is coming and also made her react to smile when her sister opens the door. The editing on adobe Photoshop helps me to merge the two shots from Emma sister and Emma to make one actual scene where we see Emma sister walking up and seeing the reaction of Emma’s face so therefore we see both of Emma’s action side and her sister side. For the editing process they had many tools that was very desirable and also simplistic to use for example cutting where I allow you to cut the scenes you want so therefore I used this tool to cut each scene that took place and also cut some of the bits that was needed. The programme was very hard to use at first but manage to get help from the teacher of how to use the system and also manage to do all the processing myself so therefore I learnt how to increase the time and depth of the credits I included and change the fonts and also make an effect of the credits fading away in a certain time of the opening scene and also managed to match the music with the scene so it will keep up the pace of the actions that re being performed. I also learnt of how to merge the multimedia devices into the editing which is by dragging with the mouse, very simple. The sound of the recording had to be changed because it included the sound of a beeping noise so therefore I managed to delete the audio and instead wasn’t used in our film since we included background music to cover it. I also increase the pace and cut of some of the shots where Emma was putting on her ballet shoes so it gives a fast tension and also keep up with the music that is being played. I had to also change the opacity of the shots that I needed to shorten down so therefore I changed the opacity level to high so it will keep the credits and the opening shots very simplistic so it doesn’t waste any callable time of our opening scene. Overall by using adobe premiere was one the most supportive programmes that was used for our editing and managed to understand the concept of how to edit films and make it very accurate for out target audience it helps how to organise the shots we made for example using the cutting to tool to cut a section of each shots we would desire to use and also know how to produce an effective opening scene with the creative tools that premier provided. I also had to be very careful of the saving procedure of my film because every time I made any changes I had to quickly save just in case the computer the programme has been cancelled which could occur in some point of time.

Problems

There were problems we come across while filming which was:

Location of the bedroom-Since our location was setted in a media room we had a lot of problem trying to get the shots that didn’t include the things that was needed such as the fire extinguisher, computers, stage lights and other things, so therefore we had to try and get the shots that didn’t include any of these objects.

Staircases-we used the staircase of the media block to try and make it look like an actual staircase of a house but to do this we had to try an get the shot of the handle and half of the space of the case so it doesn’t look really fake and not a proper stair case of house so therefore it was a problem because we had to try and move the camera in many positions where it will be suitable to record this shot.

The weather/outside premises-The weather was also a problem with only one shot because this shot was taking outside of the house and therefore we had to be very sure that the weather was fine and not wet because it would of damaged the camera and tripod which leads to us paying the fines.

In conclusion I have learnt many strategy and techniques of filming and editing and by these concepts it will help to record any idea I have in mind and while recording I have to be very careful and make sure I have to list the problems that may occur and try to solve it before filming the opening scene. With the editing there wasn’t any problem but in the future I will try and include other shots that may look fabulous into our film and add different types of music that would be very suitable for our opening scene.

Evaluation question 5

Q5) how did you attract/address your audience?

The main prospect of gaining the achievement of attracting our target audience was to try and promote our film by creating a poster for our film. Our main objective is to try and attract not only our target audience but a whole variety of people who haves an interest about ballet .I usually presented some of these terms with camera shots and also how they were use to present the audience about the main purpose of this film.

With the setting we had a panning shot outside the house which indicates that opening scene is taking place in a house in someone’s rooms, we included a soundtrack of jazz that gives a funky moment we included credits that will indicate our film procedure by showing the casts name including our main actor for the film and also used made up names that relates to a real life film production. The colour we used for the credit text was pink and white which gives a feminine colour and also represents charm and peaceful terminology. The editing process of our film was very illogical and it id took a lot of time of trying to edit because of a variety of shots we had for each scene so therefore me and my group had to decide and cut down the best shots we had and also we had to keep additional shots to make it even more effective and show our creative skills.

We managed to use our time thoroughly of finding copy write free songs on the internet which we used a soundtrack for our opening scene they both related to the music genre of jazz and also opera we cutted down to the high pitch tone which suited for the scene where Emma is quickly packing her equipment away before her sister comes and finds out what she has been doing. throughout the whole opening scene we used 2 music and at the end of our opening scene we used the name of our film ‘lets dance’ as the music increase it s tone this creates a sensational moment for the audience and it feels as though Goosebumps had occurred while name had strucked up as soon the tone reached its maximum.Threfore by covering the main key terms of our opening since this attracted our audience to give an uprising moment for the them to feel relaxed and also worn out of fear as the sister is coming up.

We used a variety of props in our opening scene that we managed to attract our audience Props.
Props such as teddy bears and pillows was presented in a panning shot to give the audience a clear idea of where the place is set and what type of person is Emma regarding to her interest and the feminine that is used to present in this opening sequence. We had used Props such as shampoo, makeup, hats, masks, DVD player and CD cover, anthology (English book) was presented in a panning shot to give the aspects of what she does in her spare time and what facilities does she use and also I sued the main prop which was the mirror which we used a medium close of Emma looking into the mirror and putting on the wig.
Ballet shoes was the main props where she had to wear the shoes to give the indication of the main purpose of the film and give the brief for the audience to know what she is doing
The Bed was used as a props since manage to create the bed using the blocks from the drama room and also using the bed sheet and mattresses from the props room. The main action was to record a bedroom scene where Emma is practising her ballet so therefore the camera shot that we used for her putting on the ballet shoes was a close up and had many cut away shots in many directions of her putting on the shoes to give the intention of how she dignifies her training and creating a fast past movement of the girl.

We used magazine as a props to show her trying to fake the situation from her sister that she is just reading the magazine even though she was practising for her ballet we used a close up shot of her flicking through the pages of the magazine and then a long shot of her looking to her sister and giving a fake smile by showing this aspects this will represent of how the girl is trying to keep her secrets thoroughly and try not to give the intentions of her sister as though she is doing ballet so therefore we know how she is trying to keep things to herself without anyone knowing it. Finally The Jewellery was used as prop to show how the place was settled as a girl’s bedroom.

In our opening scene we used a variety of mis-en-scene which we included facial expression of Emma where we expresses her shockness when her sister was coming up the way we presented created a shock and making them feel terrified. The reason for this expression was to attract the audience making think of many questions in their mind and also predictable moments that they think that might occur so therefore they will ask ‘who is the person that is coming up?’ who is she trying to keep clear of’? what is going to happen’? yet again there are many questions that the audience will like to know and by watching the film they will get the answers to the question as we showed her sister opening the door, the way we presented of her sister opening the door was used as a cut of shot of her hand we created a short of a mysterious moment of her sister but yet again this gained shocking feelings and Goosebumps t o our audience to wonder what will occur next. The colour of our font for the credit was pink and white which ensembles feminism and also gives out the charm and peaceful terminology of our opening scene. The lighting of our scene was broad day light outside the house but in the room we used the lights and pretty much the only lighting we had for our opening scene. The position of the frame was very accurate we manage to frame every shot we wanted to take but we had o make sure that everything wa in it place for example the props was in place not out of place to make our opening scene more realistic and doesn’t give out the intentions of making our opening scene very unthoughtful.

We used different types of variety shots from different angles on every props and setting that took place and we used these shots repetitively on each scene that took place so when we had a chance to edit we can decide on which shot will be highly suitable and look very creative so therefore this attracted the audience to see our we manage to make everything in our setting standed out and make sure that our character is well represented as the main character for this term. The body language of our character were stiff at first since she didn’t know anything of how to perform ballet but we had someone who was a dance performer to teach the basic stretching and also the basic moves of ballet so therefore we had the advantage to take different shots of this for example the most effective one was the over the should of the teddy bear that actually gin attraction to the audience to see the whole aspects of what she is practising on and also the teddy bear will resembles the charm and also how the girl is very calm and relaxed ,the whole procedure of using th prop as to create the peaceful term about the girl. We used songs that belonged to the genre of jazz that created a happiness moment for our audience which actually gives them a relaxing and more as a desire moment but we managed to use opera for the second part to create a high tension for the audience and we tried to make them feel very concern and predict that something is terribly going to happen due to the increase of the tone but manage to calm it down after a while, we attracted the audience by making them feel more relaxed at one point but suddenly feel uncomfortable and feel very frightened about the predicting moment.

I usually wanted to expect all audience to feel the charm and the peaceful term about how our film presents our main character. Most of the time she is always happy by herself and feels comfortable of doing anything such as when she puts on the wig which of course is the concern of embarrassment of wearing a silly old wig in front of everyone so the audience can tell how happy and more relax she is by herself. The type of genre my film belongs to is a teenage high school drama because the film indicates girl who is a teenager and wants to focus on her ballet but she comes across many situation that she avoids so therefore we can see this is also relate to the drama content of her having to do many things at once. The themes that I have chosen attracts the audience because they also have the experience where they keep secrets and make sure they don’t get exposed so therefore have o great an existence of managing to do everything at once so therefore our film relates to Billy Elliot where at once he has to pretend he goes training for the satisfaction for his father but also go to ballet for the satisfaction for himself so therefore relating to our film Emma usually focuses her education for the satisfaction for her mother whereas Emma also focuses as the same time on her ballet for the satisfaction she wants to achieve in the future.

Evaluation question 4

4) Who would be the audience for your media product?

Primary audience

These are the main audience in which we are trying to represent our whole basis of our film relating to the theme obsession. In this case we identified our target audience and observed why our film will interest their aspects.

Gender: Female

Since this film includes a main character who is a young teenager girl who wants to become a ballet dancer we know how this will be relating to feminism and other teenager girls who will be interested of seeing a girl who fulfils their dream. Also we showed this with the text that we included in our opening scene which was the colour of pink and white so yet again feminine colours are used for theses aspects.

Age: 8-20

As you know many young girls in a certain age usually love the terminology of feminism and also have the achievement they wish to become as a star so therefore we could see how this relates to girls aged 8 years old including how we show many shots of make up heart pillow and also a teddy bear. Another point that could be consider is where Emma wears the wig we can see how usually girls act in a immature way and also the volume of the music that has increased over time, these are usually hobbies that we predict that young teenagers will do in their spare time. However for the people aged 20 they are young adults who will probably be interested because of how they had a time where they were interested in ballet or had a dream of becoming a dancer but never had a chance to fulfil so therefore by watching this film it will attract them tom feel the happiness of how someone actually achieves their main goal.

Interest

The terminology of ballet and also for little kids it will interest them of how they dream of becoming a ballet dancer. It also will interest them of the music of ballet which will be opera so for young adults who have interest in opera will feel the peaceful atmosphere of watching this film.
They will also have interest of the clothing the girl wears we see how this film and the poster is very feminine since it includes the brightness and the glitterish polish and most importantly we see a small girl aged around 11 who is wearing a crown just o show the sweetness and the innocence of how this film will represent without no violence or anything typical such as action film, horror, thriller ect.

The things that we obviously we needed to include in our poster to attract our primary audience that we should at least include a small girl with feminine colours such as pink and glittery effects to subscribe the innocence and charm as though we are presenting this girl as Cinderella.

Why this audience would will be interested of watching this film?

The main cause or the concept of why they will feel the need of watching this film will probably be because it might have a small romance which may occur and as you know stereotypically that most girls nowadays are very interested into romance terminology.

Secondary audience

Gender: male

This film will also be indicating to the gender of male since many boys usually have an interest in ballet such as regarding to the film Billy Elliot he was a boy who had an interest in ballet so therefore we can refer to how boys also want to know how this girl fulfilled her dream to become a ballet dancer.

Age8-20

The reason why this age may consider for young boys will probably be because they will have the interest of becoming a ballet dancer and also will teach then the terminology of never giving hope and what you wish to become never give up until you reach the goal, the main prospect of this film is to give children encouragement of achieving the goal they wish to desire. However the reason for the age for 20 year old is because young adults may have a younger sister who wishes to become a ballet dance so therefore they can use the terminology of this film to encourage their younger sister to fulfil their dream or most boys usually look p for these films because of older women which may be included so therefore men have a interest of watching these types of film.

Interest

may be interested in ballet as for some of them for example Billy Elliot and more famous ballet dancer, some boys may watch the movie depending on how they like to see someone who fulfils their dream. Most importantly their main interest of how the film could refer for most boys of fulfilling their own dream not only in ballet but in any type of dance such as street dancing, pop dancing ect.

Why would this audience be interested of watching this film?

Most boys usually watch these films because of how they see the attraction to girls this terminology mostly happens where boys have the encouragement to feel attracted to the film because of the actors they may fancy. They could either watch the film because maybe most boys usually have a little sister who they depend on by fulfilling their dream of aspects

Evaluation question 3

Q3) what kind of media institution might describe your media product and why?

Filmmaking (often referred to in an academic context as film production) is the process of making a film, from an initial story, idea, or commission, through scriptwriting, casting, shooting, directing, editing, and screening the finished product before an audience that may result in a theatrical release or television program. Filmmaking takes place all over the planet in a huge range of economic, social, and political contexts, and using a variety of technologies and cinematic techniques

Here's the path films are distributed:
Firstly a director has an idea for a movie and research the target audience that this film will refer to. Then They create an outline of the idea and use it to promote interest in the idea so in other terms they decide the target audience that this idea of the film will refer to and try to advetise to gain attraction from them. This will lead to a distribution marketing while you are tying to promote your film by creating posters and trailers ect. After a studio or independent investor decides to purchase rights to the film. People are brought together to make the film (screenwriter, producer, director, cast, crew). Which will to the film to be completed and sent to the studio. The studio makes a licensing agreement with a distribution company. The distribution company determines how many copies of the film to make. The distribution company shows the movie to prospective buyers representing the theaters. The buyers negotiate with the distribution company on which movies they wish to lease and the terms of the lease agreement. The prints are sent to the theaters a few days before the opening day.
The theater shows the movie for a specified number of weeks this is where they have an agreement of this procedure. This will allow you to purchase a ticket to watch the film on full screen. At the end of the engagement, the theater sends the print back to the distribution company and makes payment on the lease agreement.

What low budget films would you consider and why?
The three distributing film that I will consider for my film to fist supported at will be:

Celebrity home entertainment

Celebrity home entertainment is one of the distributors its a boutique distribution house headquartered in Los Angeles, California on the "Miracle Mile" between Beverly Hills and Hollywood, as for today it is known as a family-owned business, a new team of energetic executives poised to make Celebrity a leader in independent-only film distribution, worldwide.
The reason why I have chosen this company is because they Expand within the digital market which they passionately champion films through all avenues, distributing via Video-on-Demand, Television, and even DVD and Theatrical for the right titles. Their territory is both domestic and foreign. They have reach anywhere and everywhere, and are constantly looking for content creators and buyers to grow with. This website also conclude of the main customers that actually supports with this company such as Apple, amazon, family video, redbox and much more exclusive companies. So therefore this company has the support and the allowance to send any films that you have produced and will try and promote the film in its high standards

The asylum

Another film disruptor that I will also consider is The Asylum which is an American film studio and distributor which focuses on producing low-budget, usually direct-to-video productions. The studio has produced titles that capitalize on productions by major studios; these titles have been dubbed "mock busters" by the press. The reason why I have chosen this is because The Asylum is the most prolific mini studio in Hollywood, producing 10-15 films a year, and releasing over 300 films since launching in 1997.The content of this company allows you to share any videos from any category for the web and will also promote the film.

Next wave film

Finally the last website that io also consider of making my film to be distributed is Next wave film which ius a company in which they started in 1997 to provide support to new filmmakers making ultra-low budget English-language features around the world. The reason why I have chosen this company is because Films are submitted to them after they have been shot and there is a rough cut. In addition to finishing funds, they provide assistance during post-production, and then help filmmakers implement festival and press strategies, secure domestic and international distribution, and find financing for subsequent features.

Why not YouTube?

Finally I also want to conclude why I wouldn’t consider publishing my film on YouTube. The reason of this is because YouTube is a free website where you can post videos but to gain as many views will take a lot of time and its really hard to accomplish. As I have an account for my own and producing videos relating to the category of games and music its very hard and mostly know to the web so therefore you have to try and subscribe and send messages to every to check out the video you have produced which is very unnecessarily o therefore going to other disruptor website relating to low budget film disruptors’ they will allow you to send the film you have produced and promote your film to gain as many viewers in the whole global.

Evaluation question 2

2) How does your media product represent social groups?

Social group is the term where it consists of two or more people who interact with one another and who recognizing themselves as a distinct social unit. In simple terms this is defined as a group in a certain age or gender which the purpose is usually aimed at. So therefore the social group that our film is aimed at is teenager girls age between 13-16.Because of this prospect is that usually teenagers at a certain age have a dream or a goal which they want to fulfil and this is usually a stage where they begin trying to reach their goal and follow the path of their future and achieving that goal.

However while achieving that goal many things can come in the way which can cause closure of achieving that girl which usually happens to most teenagers frequently where they want to fulfil their dream but their dream are always ruined by certain situation so therefore by producing this film will be aimed at these teenagers to give a brief of someone who achieved their goal and refilled their destiny to give a subliminal message that they should never gave up an keep trying to reach your main goal.

As you know our main character for our film is called Emma and she is the girl who wishes to fulfil her dream of becoming a ballet dancer.

Interest

  • Her interest are obviously involves with ballet which we basically have the idea from the film Billy Elliot since his interests’ was to become a ballet dancer but he had to come across many situation and disagreement from her mother so therefore we made this similar as Emma will have a disagreement from her mother as she wants her to focus on her education but she manages to fulfil her dream and pleases her mum to accept her goal.

  • Another interest that Emma has is watching dancing programmes such as strictly come dancer, this is a popular dance series in BBC one which includes as many dancing style that present and also includes soundtracks that I usually found very interesting to use in our film opening with music such as jazz and opera this will indicate the happiness and also a fast paced moment where she tries and keep everything hidden from her mother.

  • Loves to do makeup as she tries and dress up as a ballet dancer so therefore she uses props such as wig and ballet shows of course to start practising and understand how she looks while she is performing.

Age

  • She is aged 13 which is basically referring how most girls usually have a goal that they want to achieve but never managed to achieve so in other terms she is in an age where she starts to the path for her future (still in school)

    Background image

  • Her ethnic background is an African culture mixed with British since she is living in a state of Britain and has the characteristics of the British people.

  • She is a very quiet and also sneaky character where she tries to hide things from people such as trying to get way from her mother making her think she is up to nothing we related this term to Billy Elliot where he always tries to hide things from her parents and this most frequently occurs in drama series such as east enders where someone always keeps a secrets but always makes us wonder of ’when is he/she going to find out about this?’

  • She is always a paranoid character where she usually panics a lot and tries not to give way her intentions; we can see how she really wants to aim this dream because she always wanted to become a dancer when she was a little girl. She is usually left out by herself in school because she is usually a girl who is weak at becoming a ballet dancer in her after school club so therefore she gets private tutored by a professional teacher. In more aspects she wants to prove to these people that she can fulfil her dream an show how much better she is than anyone else in the class.

    Representation of these aspects

I usually presented some of these terms with camera shots and also how they were use to present the audience about the main purpose of this film:

Settings

  • So therefore I used close up and long shot of Emmas bedroom filled with magazines, teddy bears and also posters of famous people so therefore we can see the concept of someone who is interesting of becoming famous and regarding to the feminism that is involved with these shots

    Props

  • Used a variety of close up camera shots with pillows and also the wig which is the props that Emma will sued to put on her head

  • Props such as teddy bears and pillows was presented in a panning shot to give the audience a clear idea of where the place is set and wahat type of person is Emma regarding to her interest and the feminine that is used to present in this opening sequence

  • Props such as shampoo, makeup, hats, masks, dvd player and CD cover, anthology (English book) was presented in a panning shot to give the aspects of what she dowse in her spare time and what facilities does she use and also I sued the main prop which was the mirror which we used a medium close of Emma looking into the mirror and putting on the wig.

  • Ballet shoes was the main props where she had to wear the shoes to give the indication of the main purpose of the film and give the brief for the audience to know what she is doing
Bed was used as a props since the main procedure was to record a bedroom scene where Emma is practising her ballet the camera shot that we used for her putting on the ballet shoes was a close up and had many cut away shots in many directions of her putting on the shoes to give the intention of how she dignifies her training.

  • We used magazine as a props to show her trying to fake the situation from her sister that she is just reading the magazine even though she was practising for her ballet we used a close up shot of her flicking through the pages of the magazine and then a long shot of her looking to her sister and giving a fake smile by showing this aspects this will represent of how the girl is trying to keep her secrets thoroughly and try not to give the intentions of her sister as though she is doing ballet so therefore we know how she is trying to keep things to herself without anyone knowing it.

  • Jewellery was used as prop to show how the place was settled as a girl’s bedroom.

    Dialogue

  • No dialogue was used of this filming process but we thpo8gutht of having a dialogue of her sister calling her name from downstairs to give the attention to Emma that she has to quickly get changed before her sister finds out what she is doing so therefore for the sound effects we used a fast paced music mainly opera where as soon as her sister comes up the tone of music increases and creates a disturbing atmosphere and creates a shocking moment where the audience feel that she wants her to hurry before her sister comes an finds out about what she is doing.

    Sound effects

  • In this filming process the noise from the staircase was used to give the intention for the Emma to realise that her sister is coming up and also we used a high tone with the violins as Emma turns around to give a surprising moment for the audience and making them wonder about cause of his tragic movement.

Evaluation question 1

Q1) in what ways does your media product USE, DEVELOP or CHALLENGE forms and conventions of real media products?

The film genre that my film ‘Lets dance’ is based on is teenage high school category referring to dance which involves with the theme obsession where someone e is obsess of doing something respectively as part in their social life. Our film refers to a girl who has a dream of becoming a ballet dancer. The main props that are used are girl clothing, ballet shoes, leggings and usually make-up and spray mostly everything that a typical teenage girl uses everyday of her life. The main feeling we desire for our audience o feel while watching this film is that all dreams can be fulfilled in other terms meaning to never give up hope and destiny while achieving a goal.

Form of opening scene

Lets dance

The main aspects of our opening scene was to present what a normal or any other typical teenage girl will do in her social life but we added a tragic effect where the girl is usually hiding or keeping a secret from her family. The main procedure of our opening scene was to show a girl named Emma who loves ballet and dreams of becoming a ballet dancer however she keeps a secret from her mother which apparently wants her to focus on her education so therefore Emma has to try and practise without being caught by in the aspect of the opening scene we added fast past tension and also peaceful terms in the begging we added both tension to where our main character Emma is entering her room and beginning to practise her ballet which she usually enjoys and wishes to accomplish in her future to be become a famous dancer.

Other films related

Billy Elliot

Billy Elliot is also a film that is similar to our film since it included an opening scene which presents all different variety of shots of him stretching and practising for his ballet, therefore this is similar to our opening film where we also used variety of shots of Emma practising and stretching which the most effective shot in my opinion was the over the shoulder shot of the teddy bear.

High School Musical

‘High School Musical’ was also a similarity to our opening scene where they used an effective shot of a zooming in to the girl’s bedroom which we used this idea in our opening scene where we zoomed into Emma s bedroom to give a clear vision of her interest and her things she keeps in activities.

Characters

Emma is a innocent girl wand also a shy person who don’t usually have a lot of friends in school which she usually gets bullied a lot and also separated from others sop therefore she is very lonely. She never feels comfortable or very social with anyone except for herself which we presented this in the opening scene where she wears the wig and stretches this can indicate how she feels more comfortable by herself with other people around her including her family which she usually becomes paranoid if any of the family members finds out of what she is doing for example the hot where Emma sister is coming up ,Emma quickly gets changed, takes off her shoes and relaxes on her bed reading the magazine as if nothing happened. So overall she is very keen and paranoid when these situations happen. Emma has the reasons to feel uncomfortable due to her background image of her family which they are very strict and don’t allow to let Emma to feel free of doing anything of her interest except of focusing on her education which this mostly occurs real life aspects where a teenage girl wants to become either a singer or a dancer but has a parent which refuses this point of career to focus on something else on their own interest therefore we added this conflict to make it more inspirement for the audience.

Compare to other films

Sister act (Lauren hill)

film included a character that was similar to our film which her name was Lauren hill she was a girl who also had a dream the same personality which she is very shy and uncomfortable with together people and wishes to accomplish a goal where she wants to be a singer however the similar conflict comes across where her mother disagrees with her option because she wants her to focus on education and have a better life. This idea gave us the knowledge to produce a massive conflict where a mother doesn’t allow giving free choices for her daughter so therefore we see the depression and also present how strong the character is when she never gives up her destiny which is to become a famous ballet dancer.

Narrative

A narrative is a constructive format (as a work of speech, writing, song, film, television, video games, photography or theatre) that describes a sequence of non-fictional or fictional events.

Lets dance

Emma is the main character of our film she has an interest and the obsession of doing ballet in her social life and also it’s her dream goal to become a famous dancer. As you know Emma is in her teens which we present this character as a shy and also an innocent girl who has a dream like most engage girls have in a certain age. Usually girls have a dream of becoming someone they wish in the future but don’t usually reach that goal so in the is aspects we product a film where we present a teenage girl who actually achieves the goal but through the disagreement and conflict between her mother.

Other films related

Billy Elliot

This was the main film that gave us the brilliant idea to use the aspects of the narrative. It was similar because of how both characters had the same dream which to become the ballet dancer and also had the same conflict between their own parents. Billy Elliot had the conflict between his father so therefore we decided to challenge the conventions of creating a conflict between Emma and her mother which swapped the gender to female and creating a feminine story behind this procedure.

Sister act

This was also another film that is similar because of an individual character named Lauren Hill which she had the dream that she wishes to fulfil but her mother wants her to focus on her education. We use this idea to add on to our plot of the film and challenge the convention of changing the purpose of a girl who wants to become a famous ballet dancer.

Sound

Lets dance

For the sound devices for our film we consider of using jazz to create a happy atmosphere and more like a peaceful term to make the audience feel engaged and relaxed for example we used this in our opening scene where Emma is putting on the shoes and the panning shot outside the house in a clear weather and also inside the room with the panning shot so therefore this created a happy feeling for our target audience. However another music that we consider of using is opera which is usually in our opinion well suited for this film genre as it relates to opera and with a lot of research we consider this as our option to use in the beginning of the opening scene where Emma finds out her sister is about to come up to her room so opera creates a fast past atmosphere which creates a tension for the audience to feel paranoid and have Goosebumps about Emma being caught so opera also includes happy charm and also fast paced as well as an dangerous moment so in other terms Emma’s mum is the one who disagrees on the enjoyment of Emma but in this case there is many reasons to consider this.

Other films related

Billy Elliot

This was a film that usually used a lot of opera music and also had the same genre and purpose of the film relating to obsession of ballet so therefore this film used music which to created a more relaxing and peaceful mood and also included a fast paced, paranoid tension with the conflict between him and his dad so therefore we used to same similar idea for our opening film to create the conflict between Emma and her mother.

You got served

This was another film which had the same similar aspect of sound which mostly had a fast paced tension to create more empathy and the enjoyment of this film was very crucial to the excitement and the happiness that it included so therefore we used the idea to create the similar motion and also this film did include depressing moments which almost lead the character to quit their dream but manage to carry on. So therefore the challenge for this film was to use the same aspects but present it with the theme obsession and the purpose of our film.

Lets dance

Costume-
The costume that we included for the idea of our film was typical ballet material like leggings, ballet shoes and high socks because the main procedure or the purpose that this film relates to is ballet so indeed the costume will be needed for this is ballet clothing and also a school uniform as you know Emma is in her teens and goes to school for her education.

Props-

The main procedure of the props consider of items that usually are shown in a girls bedroom so in this case we manage to present all these props such as teddy bears, pillows, hair spray, wig and much more that we desire of including in a girls bedroom and we presented these props by having a panning shot around each and individual of the item and especially the pillows which includes the colour p9ik that dignifies feminism and also cut away shots of each props for example the zooming of the teddy bear and the cut away shot of the wig as Emma grabs it.

Facial expression-

Emma is always excited by herself and also haves the destiny of accomplishing what she wants to do so therefore we present this by indicating happy and more exciting facial expression as she wears the wigs and also the expression of fear when she hears her sister coming up the room and we also see how paranoid she is as she appears the room but eventually we added a facial expression where she fakes a smile to pretend she had done nothing against her family rules.

Body language-

Her body language the aspect of her stretching and feeling more relaxed and comfortable for example we presented this I our opening scene we she enters the room very quickly so she doesn’t give the attention of her family member to notice and also the way she skips to the chair and stretches however we also included a fast paced tension where she quickly runs to the bed so therefore this body expression shows how Emma is very calm and relaxed but also paranoid to not give her intentions away.

Make up-

Make up wasn’t necessarily used at this point of the procedure but the character of the film only needed to wear a bit of a makeup because of giving the suspicion for her mother to realise what she has been doing and we know this because her mother is very strict indeed and doesn’t allow Emma to enjoy what she desire to do.

Position in frame-

Our film was very accurate to frame the shots that were taken. The shots that we usually took were very hard and did take a lot of time to steady our patience trying to make every shot accurate and make sure there was not a single error of the position in the frame. For example we had to be very careful on shots where Emma was looking into the mirror to make sure it looked more effective not very off position for example the problem we had where Emma had look into the mirror we had to make sure the frame was very accurate and effective as if she is actually looking into a mirror and see her appearance clear.

Other films related

Billy Elliot

The position frame in this film was very crucial and accurate and this film related to how accurate our film was when Billy was practising his stretching and ballet movement so therefore we manage to use this idea and challenge to convention of variety shots of how Emma is preparing for her full training
